Effect of Aluminum Addition on Properties of Hadfield steel

Abstract:
Many studies about Hadfield steel (high Manganese austenitic steels) have been done and it was found that there are some unique characteristics of Hadfield steel which makes it more applicable. The present investigation is directed towards the effects of Aluminum addition on properties of Hadfield steel. Aluminum is added to Hadfield steel as an alloying element and different test specimens with different composition of aluminum have been examined by means of microstructure, grain size, spectroscopy, hardness, and tensile strength.
