Abstract:
This analytical study deals a novel model of axially flowing fluid induced transverse vibration on cantilever pipe to suppress vibration with semi active MR damper. The analysis is done using the skyhook controlling technique. Its analytical solution is simplified using Galerkin’s approach and simulation is done using MATLAB. Naturel frequencies and mode shape function are taken from the different boundary configuration of the cantilever beam. The paper also describe about the suitable position of the MR actuator in the cantilever pipe in first mode. Study shows that while the actuator is applied on 0.75 length from the fixed end of cantilever pipe with the same actuation force, where, lateral excitation amplitude is minimum.
