Abstract:
Screw jack is a portable device consisting of a screw mechanism used to raise or lower the load. There are two types of jacks most commonly used, Hydraulic & Mechanical .In screw jack, a small force is applied in the horizontal plane, used to raise or lower a large load. The efforts required in achieving the desired output can be effectively and economically be decreased by the implementation of better designs. Power screws are used to convert rotary motion into reciprocating motion. Screw jack is a device which is used to lift and support a heavy load in automotive vehicles, such as a car. Generally, human effort is required to rotate the screw; sometimes it becomes difficult to move the screw jack from one place to another due to its heavy weight. In this work, we have tried to reduce the weight of the jack body by creating holes on the body. So that the screw jack is easy to port and it will increase the human comfort while handling the screw jack.
