Nadler Type Fixed Point Theorems for the Setting of Rhoades

Abstract:
Nadler has proved a fixed point theorem for XxZ where X is a complete metric space and Z is a metric space with the fixed point property. Rhoades discussed 125 contractive conditions and gave some results about these contractive conditions. In this paper we improve Nadler’s results by weakening the conditions on the spaces and by enlarging the class of mappings by Rhoades type contractive conditions in the first variable. Here we extend the class of metric spaces Z by the class of uniform spaces for which Nadler type fixed point theorems holds.
