Abstract:
Port and harbor projects are one of the infrastructure projects in which berth construction plays an important role. Risk exists in berth construction are more as compared to other harbor construction projects. Risk management is a process which consists of identification, analysis and response with suitable methods for handling and control risks. Risk management in berth construction could help to reduce the possible risk of accidents. The aim of this paper is to identify and prioritize the risk in berth construction projects. The risk factors have been determined through a structured questionnaire based on the literature study. Based on a probability of occurrence and severity of impacts on the project objectives, this paper identifies 15 major risk factors. This research proposes Technique for the Order Preference by Similarity to ideal Solution (TOPSIS) methodology based on Multi Criteria Decision Making analysis to prioritize and assess the risks.
