Effect of Flyash and Fibre on Index Properties of Black Cotton Soil

Abstract:
In this study flyash and sugarcane fibre a used as a stabilizing material to stabilize the black cotton soil and dealing with index properties as the parameter for it. Flyash and sugarcane fibre are mixed separately in 9%, 18%, 27% and the change in its index property is examined. It is observed that a significant variation in liquid limit, plasticity index, shrinkage limit and swelling index. Liquid limit decreased from 46.23% to 35.85%. Plastic limit increased 26 % to 27.33%. Plasticity index decreased from 19.73 % to 10.54%. The values of DFS examine decreased 40% to 20%. Shrinkage limit increased from 11.76 % to 17.41%.
